Dr Ian Weisberg has become a transformative leader in cardiac electrophysiology, delivering advanced arrhythmia treatment with a rare combination of clinical precision and heartfelt compassion. Serving the Florida Panhandle, Dr Ian Weisberg has dedicated his career to improving heart rhythm care for thousands, bringing the highest standards of medical excellence to communities that need it most.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Dr Ian Weisberg distinguished himself early as both an academic and an athlete. He was named “All Southwest” in soccer and played a key role in helping The Greenhill School’s tennis team win a National Championship. His drive and focus propelled him to Emory University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics while completing rigorous premedical coursework. A Phi Beta Kappa honoree, he also studied abroad at the London School of Economics and the Institute of Italian Studies in Florence, expanding his global perspective before returning to Emory to earn his M.D.
Dr Ian Weisberg began his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the prestigious Parkland Memorial Hospital through UT Southwestern, known for producing some of the nation’s most accomplished clinicians. He continued his journey with a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, serving as Chief Fellow. To further refine his expertise, he completed advanced Clinical and Cardiac Electrophysiology training at the University of Chicago, mastering procedures such as atrial fibrillation (AFib) ablation, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), and the implantation of pacemakers and ICDs.
In Pensacola, Dr Ian Weisberg took a leading role in developing the electrophysiology program at Gulf Breeze Hospital. His efforts earned him the We Care Doctor of the Year award in both 2012 and 2014. Demonstrating his commitment to advancing cardiac technology, he was also one of the first physicians in the country to implant the Biotronik DX ICD, a groundbreaking device in heart rhythm management.
Expanding his reach, Dr Ian Weisberg later introduced sophisticated heart rhythm programs at North Okaloosa Medical Center and HCA Fort Walton-Destin. His work in these facilities significantly expanded access to specialized cardiac care for underserved populations in Northwest Florida.
In 2025, Dr Ian Weisberg launched Emerald Coast Heart & AFib—the region’s first and only clinic exclusively dedicated to the treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including AFib. The clinic is a culmination of his vision: combining innovative procedures with compassionate, individualized care for patients across Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties.
Outside the medical field, Dr Ian Weisberg is a devoted father and avid sports fan. His personal dedication to excellence, balance, and community reflects the same values that define his groundbreaking work in cardiac electrophysiology.
